Mining One has completed work in Australia and many countries/continents including extensive experience in Indonesia, Africa, South America, China, PNG and the Philippines. Dean Basile has over 24 years of experience in the mining industry and over 16 years of experience at a management level and is the Managing Director of Mining One. His career began at Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines in Western Australia and he has worked at senior and mine management levels in Ghana and Peru, mainly covering surface mining techniques as well as extensive experience in long-term and strategic planning of gold and copper mines. Dean has conducted work on and managed various feasibility studies; as well as the implementation of mining fleets at two green field operations. Dean has an intermediate level of written and spoken Spanish.
Gary Davison

Gary Davison has over 40 years of experience in the Australian Mining Industry. His career began at Renison, Tasmania, in 1978 and has worked at senior mine management levels in Tasmania, Western Australia, Victoria and New South Wales covering underground and surface mining techniques. As well as a practical, hands-on approach, Gary has worked for a variety of clients including lawyers on expert witness cases, merchant banks conducting a high number of due diligence examinations and many other feasibility studies. He has extensive experience in Australian and overseas. He has worked on mines and mining prospects and underground mines within the production range of 50,000 – 10,000,000 tonnes per annum.
Gary is highly innovative in many areas having developed unique mine designs and infrastructure for difficult mines and he has a particular passion for ground support and improving the safety and efficiency of underground mining. Gary has successfully patented a variety of rock bolts, many of which are commercially available selling over 1.5 million units, worldwide. He has a number of other patents pending. Gary has written and presented a variety of papers on mining topics. He has visited mine sites and conducted work in Indonesia, Canada, Finland, UK, Sweden, Ghana, Central and South America, and China, as well all states and territories in Australia.
Gary is one of the founders/Directors of Mining One Pty Ltd in Melbourne, Australia and was Managing Director from 2005-2023 and his private Rock Bolt Technology firm, Gazmick Pty Ltd. He was a Non-Executive Director at Unity Mining Limited joining them in 2013 and has previously held Non Executive Directorships for Kasbah Resources Ltd and Lightning Nickel Pty Ltd., the nickel operating arm of Independence Group NL. Gary is also the Managing Director of the Mining Motor Company Pty Ltd which is developing variable speed electric motors for mining operations.
Lyn Stribley

Lyn started her career in the mining industry over 38 years ago. She began work as a metallurgical clerk and laboratory assistant doing flotation test work for Aberfoyle Tin at Luina, Tasmania. Lyn progressed to working for Mine Managers as a confidential Secretary, assisting in administration and HR. After developing a strong administration background, she moved into project management working closely with clients and building client relationships. Finding this was her strength and with her knowledge of the mining industry she progressed into business development.
Lyn was a founding member of Mining One working on the business plan and cost analysis that helped start the successful business that it is today. She has successfully grown the Mining One brand both in Australia and overseas. Her strong business acumen has enabled her to secure project leads worldwide, hence obtaining a wide range of diversified projects in many countries for the Mining One business.

He has undertaken a wide variety of roles within various technical teams including short/medium/long term planning engineering roles and production engineering roles. Ievan also has extensive experience on a variety of projects and has been involved in the various study phases from concept study to feasibility study to project implementation for various commodities such as coal, gold, silver, copper, iron ore, tin, limestone, phosphate and rare earth minerals in various countries.
Ievan has a sound understanding of computerised 3D design work, dragline and truck shovel operation, mine scheduling, budgeting, pit optimisation and cost modelling. Ievan is well versed in various mining software packages, including Minex, Minescape, Surpac, Whittle, Vulcan, XPAC, 3D Dig and Talpac. Marcus Jacobs has over 20 years’ experience in operational mines, engineering studies and business consulting roles. He is a skilled project and study manager; providing leadership and coaching to achieve safety performance, schedule and budget targets. Ian Hulls
Technical Services ManagerMelbourne, Australia
Ian has over 45 years of experience in the mining and civil industries. His mining experience covers both open pit and underground metalliferous and coal mines across Australia and overseas. Ian offers a range of geotechnical skills including onsite geotechnical support, instrumentation design and installation, in-situ testing, stress measurements, cable and roof bolt load monitoring and cable and roof bolt pull out testing programs. He has carried out these tasks at Australian mines such as Sino’s Iron Cape Preston Mine, WMC Mount Keith Mine, Kidston Gold Mine, Telfer Gold Mine, Endeavor Mine, Ballarat Mine, Cadia Mine, NorthParkes Mine; as well as overseas mines like Chatree Gold Mine, Thailand, Aguas Tenidas Mine, Spain and Porgera Mine, Papua New Guinea. Ian has used his open pit expertise to conduct geotechnical reviews, site geotechnical support and slope stability analysis for long term pit designs at mines such as Mount Keith Nickel, Woodlawn, Anglesea and Yallourn. He also covers the supervision and inspection of major works including river diversions, mine closure rehabilitation, conveyor realignment remedial works for large-scale slope instability and remediation supervision for insurers, for example, Hazelwood mine, Victoria.
His work has mainly involved the practical on-site implementation or supervision of work from initial drilling to mine site closure (e.g. Ranger uranium Mine, NT). He was one of the key instigators of the introduction of slope stability radar monitoring to the open pit mining industry, particularly with the initial implementation of this radar monitoring at the Mt Keith Nickel mine in WA, where both small and large scale pit slope instability was monitored and managed.
His civil experience includes ground support work on the CityLink and EastLink tunnels in Melbourne, along with stress measurements for the various railway tunnel alignments in Sydney and Melbourne and the Waterview tunnel in Auckland in New Zealand.
Stuart Hutchin

Stuart has over 23 years of experience in the Australian and international mining industry. He has worked in a wide range of gold, base metal, rare earth, bauxite, iron ore, diamond and emerald deposits. He has experience ranging from grass roots exploration through to mine geology and resource estimation in both underground and surface mining operations. Stuart has also had extensive experience with project assessment, geological audits, project valuations (VALMIN) and due diligence studies on both exploration and mining projects. He has authored more than 25 technical papers and articles and he is an AusIMM Chartered Professional and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland.
Adrian Nurcahyo
GM Indonesia/Principal GeologistAdrian is a Geologist with over 19 years of experience in project generation, project management, business development, exploration (field mapping and drilling supervision), resource development and mining of coal, industrial minerals in Indonesia and abroad. A competent person for JORC (Joint Ore Reserves Committee) coal resource reporting. He is an expert user and trainer in Minescape coal software.
Davron Lu
GM China/Global Contracts OfficerMelbourne, Australia
Davron has over eight years of experience in contract laws, due diligence, project management, and geotechnical engineering. Working on a variety of projects both on site and office based, her experience includes technical due diligence, project permitting review, environmental legislations, technical translation, project management and delivery, and client liaison. She has been involved in many technical due diligence and has conducted various reviews on mining and environmental permits for projects in Australia, Canada, Chile, Philippines, etc. She has also conducted geotechnical training for our clients in China to improve their mine safety and economics. Louis is a confident individual capable of understanding complex technical concepts both inside and outside his discipline. General Manager EMEA (Europe/Middle East/Americas)H Andrew Daniels is a registered and accomplished Professional Geologist with over 38 years of international mining, exploration, mining capital markets and structuring experience including management and supervisory experience at senior levels in open pit and underground mines and large scale exploration programs. Experienced in the understanding of capital markets related to mining finance and corporate financing strategies in the mining industry. He has extensive international experience working in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran), Southeast Asia (Philippines), Former Soviet Union (Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Russia), Cuba, Central and South America, India, Canada, Africa (Mali), Europe and Australia with industry leading mining houses WMC, Anglo American, Minorco and Kilborn SNC-Lavalin and other industry leaders such as Deutsche Bank and Alexander Proudfoot. Andrew has dual citizenship (Canada and Australia) and working proficiency in several languages (English, French, Spanish and basic Russian). He has extensive base metals and gold experience in a variety of deposit types and geological terrains; in particular nickel sulphides, nickel laterites, Cu-Au VMS, sediment hosted and mesothermal lode gold and carbonate hosted lead – zinc and IOCG’s. Andrew is a leading nickel laterite specialist. He has specialized computer skills in the field of economic resource estimation, geological block modeling, project evaluation and mine modeling. Andrew has a strong background in senior consulting and senior management roles in project evaluation in support of business development and M / A activities. He is considered QP / CP under JORC and 43-101 for most base metals and gold deposits, including resource estimation. Andrew has extensive mining and finance industry contacts spanning the globe as well as IPO, Board, C-Suite and corporate strategy experience across numerous markets.

Cameron Farrington

Cameron is a Principal Mining Engineer who has a diverse background in mining. With over 20 years as a mining professional, Cameron has become an effective leader in both operational and technical roles across a broad sprectrum of commodities including Copper, Iron Ore, Gold, Diamonds and Coal where he has learnt to understand the fundamental value drivers for the respective commodity. Cameron holds an engineering degree as well as a MBA in finance which is supported by experiences ranging from Mining engineer to front line management including his legislatively appointed role as the site SSE. His skills and experience provide the ability to be an effective workforce leader as well as the ability to develop, implement and effect site safety management systems to establish a productive safety culture.
Cameron’s strong operational background along with his time as a Fleet Performance Superintendent where he oversaw a fleet exceeding 80 trucks and 10 dig units provides a strong foundation in understanding the relationship between people, equipment and systems and how to maximise equipment performance. These skills have underpinned Cameron’s ability to carry out numerous fleet studies and then manage them through the execution phase. With demonstrated effectiveness in areas of; Operational readiness planning, due diligence, capability assessments, JORC and NI 43-101 reports across a number of commodities, organisational design, equipment selection and fleet studies, ICAM and root cause safety investigations, business improvement and mine optimisation.
Cameron’s Project Management skills, years of experience and the face combined with his financial acumen have enabled Cameron to facilitate many projects from financial feasibility through to implementation. Cameron is a chartered professional of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM (CP)).
Darryl Dyason
Mining Manager - UndergroundDarryl is an experienced Mining Engineer with over 24 years of experience in the industry. He has worked on various project around Australia as well as Indonesia. Darryl has managed all aspects of technical services and planning both in open pit and underground operations. He is skilled in mine planning, drill and blast, ventilation, LoM designs, feasibility studies, Geotech, QA/QC, projects and surveying. Darryl is also proficient in using mine planning software.
Craig Stewart

He has held numerous positions in Management in both open pit and underground mines including those in Australia and overseas in countries such as Papua New Guinea and Saudi Arabia. Simon was Mining Manager at Silverlake Resources at the Mount Monger Operations prior to joining Mining One.
Simon’s expertise includes project reviews and due diligence of mining operations, underground management, mine design and optimisation, mine ventilation, contract management, backfill, cost modelling, equipment selection and scheduling

Stewart is one of Mining One’s senior mining personnel with extensive site management and operations background. His practical hands on mining experience of over 35 years has enabled him to successfully manage many well-resourced mining operations both in Australia, Africa, France, China and Indonesia.
He is skilled in mine planning, designs and schedules with proficient software skills in Surpac, Ventsim, Deswik, RINGking and Datamine. His mine designs are invariably practical and detailed so as to allow for easy implementation by on-site personnel which assists our clients greatly when trying to embed oneself in the culture of mine sites around the world.

Joseph Tachie-Menson
Principal Mining EngineerJoseph is a Principal Mining Engineer (open pit) with technical and operational expertise working in middle and senior level roles in multinational mining organisations. Joseph’s 18 years of experience in the mining industry commenced with acquiring skills in operation of heavy mine equipment including trucks, drills and loaders. During this time, he gained firsthand practical field knowledge in mining. He gained further operational experience in his role as a leading hand and then as a crew supervisor. Joseph has also held key operational management roles in the capacity of a Mining Operations Superintendent and then as a Mining Manager in NSW, Australia, during which time he acquired the NSW Quarry Manager’s Certificate of Competency. Joseph’s operational expertise include fleet management, business improvement, mine optimization, contract administration, ICAM and TapRoot incident root cause investigation and analysis, explosives management and management of Tailings Storage Facilities. Joseph is also experienced in heavy equipment asset management.

David Lucas
Principal Geotechnical EngineerDavid Lucas is a mining geotechnical specialist with over 30 years of experience in mining and civil geotechnical engineering, of which 24 years have been in mining in Australia and South-East Asia. He is a specialist in slope stability in open-cut mining, with considerable experience in rock and soil slopes, overburden dumps and stockpiles, in a wide range of hard rock mines, coal mines and quarries. With a first degree in geology, he is skilled at understanding and interpreting geological processes and settings in terms of their engineering impact.
His on-site mining experience includes 12 years in site-based operational roles where he provided practical advice on slope stability, geotechnical hazard management, and failure remediation. William Gibson
Principal Geotechnical Engineer/Numerical Modelling SpecialistWilliam has over 40 years of experience in geotechnical, mining, and civil engineering projects, as well as complex numerical modelling applied to rock mechanics and programming of software for geotechnical analyses.
His expertise in open pit mining includes slope stability analysis for large pits line Chuquicamata, Esperanza and Pelambres (Chile), Olympic Dam (Australia), You Tolgoi (Mongolia), and Quellaveco (Peru). William has done analysis of the interaction between open pits and underground mining operations.
William’s experience with underground mines includes the analysis of block caving mines like El Teniente and El Salvador (Chile), mining sequence, open stopping stability of pillars and interaction of block caving operations with mine facilities. He is also experienced in the analysis of slopes under static and seismic conditions, and the stability analysis of the other mine related structures such as tailing dams, heap leach piles and waste rock dumps.
He has carried out seismic risk assessments in different regions of South and Central America, Africa, Papua New Guinea and Canada involving the definition and generation of earthquake simulation of dynamic analysis. William has also worked on the analysis and design of concrete and steel buildings and bridges, using self-developed software.

Tom has worked on mine sites throughout Eurasia, Africa and Australia and North America, directing geotechnical site investigations and collecting data. Dr Kyuseok Woo

Yousef holds a PhD in mining induced seismicity from Queen’s University and a master’s from Laurentian University, Canada. Yousef joined Mining One as a senior geotechnical specialist in 2021. Dr. Robert Gaulton

A highly experienced Mining Geologist with over 45 years of experience, Rob provided a wide range of geological services to SECV mining and resource development operations in the Latrobe Valley (4 open cut operations) between 1973 and 1994. Between 1981 and 1992 he led a team of earth scientists and technical specialists while managing SECV drilling activities and a number of emergent large scale projects and investigations. He was also routinely involved with open pit drainage, dewatering and stability issues. In addition, Rob oversaw the introduction of computer based geological and geophysical data acquisition and the development of digital geological and coal resource models and was responsible for maintenance of the SECV bore data base.
He completed an MSc (Hons) degree in Coal Geology at the University of Wollongong between 1983 and 1985. Between 1972 and 1988 he conducted over 70 internal training sessions on coal geology, pit stability and coal chemistry and lectured part time in earth sciences at the Gippsland Institute of Advanced Education (later Monash University Gippsland) between 1975 and 1987. Rob has also developed and presented a series of sessional lectures on low rank coals for Latrobe University and the University of Wollongong. He currently lectures in Engineering Geology for MSc students at Federation University Gippsland and takes practical geology sessions for Environmental Science students.
In recent years, Rob has been involved with a range of coal mining projects in Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia. These included ongoing assignments in the Latrobe Valley, geological and geological/geotechnical investigations for the Federal Government, resource estimates at Griffin Coal (WA), reviews of and provision of advice to coal mining operations/prospects in Tasmania and New Zealand as well as coal resource evaluations in Malaysia and JORC coal resource estimates in Indonesia.
